General discussion (12/31/07)
B.C. Street existed as an entertainment strip for GIs from early post WWII years to the late 1990s. Over the years the street changed with the times and circumstances of life. Today little remains of the strip as it existed during the height of its activity, perhaps for the best. Scattered throughout the main island of Okinawa, clusters of nightclubs and small bars catered to GIs but none matched B.C. Street in size and scope. I suspect B.C. Street, and places like it, will bring back fond memories for some and for others only saddness and disappointment. I would enjoy reading your thoughts and memories of Okinawa and B.C. Street. And, naturally, I welcome comments about my novel. . . . E. A. Cooper
